High school football game ended in brawl that was broken up with pepper spray
A high school football game between Las Vegas high schools Canyon Springs and Basic got completely out of hand Friday night.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, "tensions on both teams escalated throughout the homecoming game." There were 35 penalties, which the paper says were mostly personal fouls. Four players were ejected in the second half, and there was a brawl "immediately" after the game.

Here's how the Las Vegas Sun described the scene:
The game between Canyon Springs and BasicFriday night ended with Pioneers’ coach Gus McNair sitting on the field holding his crying child, as staff members flushed McNair's eyes with water from Gatorade bottles.
Players from both teams scrambled in opposite directions, screaming in pain and clutching their eyes.
The scene at Basic High School was ugly, as the game ended with a massive brawl at midfield involving players and coaches engulfed in a cloud of yellow pepper spray from Clark County School District Police.
The pepper spray was used after players began started throwing punches and swinging helmets at one another. Although police felt the need to step in, no one was arrested as a result of the brawl, and there has been no disciplinary action on either school.

Clark County School District police used the pepper spray, and Henderson police were also called to help assist with crowd control. Eventually things settled down enough to where fans, and both teams, were able to exit without further issue.
