Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks: Rankings, lineup advice for Tuesday, August 22

It's a rare day with 32 pitchers to choose from, with the Phillies and Marlins playing the lone day game in Game 1 of their doubleheader. Aaron Nola will pitch that game, which means he won't be available on daily fantasy baseball main slates, but there are plenty of good options in the 15-game evening slate.

Jimmy Nelson has hit the skids a bit, but he's the top guy today with a great matchup at San Francisco. Chris Archer is a strong second-placepick, as he continues to go deep into games and rack up the Ks. Carlos Carrasco got knocked around last time out against the Red Sox, but he should bounce back. The Red Sox don't strike out much, but Carrasco should fare much better. Although Lance Lynn faces a high-strikeout offense, he hasn't struck out more than four batters in his past four starts. Lynn should go deep, but his strikeout number will be small.

Patrick Corbin has thrown a quality start with seven-plus strikeouts in each of his past three outings. Against the struggling Mets in pitcher-friendly Citi Field, he can do it again. A boom-or-bust candidate for second straight outing is John Lackey, who boomed last week.

We have a 14-game slate tonight, as the Playbook is excluding the Maimi-Philadelphia game due to it not being available on most sites. While we have some rain concerns to monitor in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Cincinnati tonight, it's looking like all three games will play.

9 Jose Urena, RHP (G2) MIA @PHI

We have teams like the Orioles, Cubs,Twins, and Yankees all with solid run totals, as well as some nice mid-tier pitchers that are worth targeting tonight in order to pay up for some bigger bats. Similar to last night, this slate is best geared toward stacking in GPPs over playing cash games. Good luck! -- Ben Scherr
