Our long national wait to learn the 2017 Michigan football roster is almost over.

Coach Jim Harbaugh tweeted Sunday that the Wolverines' roster will be "determined & publicized" Aug. 30 — three days before Michigan opens its season against Florida.

Michigan hasn't updated the roster on its official website since August 2016, so the version currently online still features the likes of Jabrill Peppers (of the Cleveland Browns) and Devin Asiasi (who transferred to UCLA in the spring), among many others who have since departed Ann Arbor.

Harbaugh's refusal to release an updated roster has prompted ridicule from some corners and even legal action of a sort. A reporter at NJ Advance Media filed a Freedom of Information Act request this month seeking the roster so it could find out how many players from New Jersey would suit up for the Wolverines this year.

The school deflected that request, but it sounds like we're only days away from a resolution.
