No push to be seen in Conor McGregor-Paulie Malignaggi video

No push to be seen in Conor McGregor-Paulie Malignaggi video

UFC president Dana White released the video of the sparring match between Conor McGregor and Paulie Malignaggi and you will be hard-pressed to find any push in it.

Malignaggi left the camp abruptly when a photo was released of him on the mat after what he said was a push rather than a knockdown. This is the photo in question:

However, when White released the video Friday, there really is no push to be found.

McGregor is seen hitting Malignaggi and then kind of grabbing his head and then Malignaggi falls to the mat. If it was a push it wasn't an aggressive one.

What was aggressive was some of the other sparring in earlier rounds.

McGregor clearly lands one big shot here, but he doesn't knock down his opponent. That would back up Malignaggi's statements that McGregor does hit hard, but that his power was simply "above average."

Now, these are videos released by the UFC president so they do have to be taken with a grain of salt. Other videos could show Malignaggi's success rather than McGregor's. These videos tell the story White wants to tell. But still, there was no push where Malignaggi said there was one, so maybe Malignaggi wasn't exactly truthful himself.
