It's over - Cricket Australia and ACA agree terms to end pay row that put the Ashes in doubt

Cricket Australia (CA) and the Australian Cricketers' Association (ACA) have finally come to an agreement that will end the long-running pay dispute between the two bodies.

The parties were still at odds when the previous Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) expired at the end of June, which effectively left the country's top stars unemployed.

With that deadline reached and no sign of reconciliation in sight, Australia's tour of Bangladesh later this month - as well as the home Ashes series with England beginning in November - were thrown into major doubt.

Last month, Australia captain Steve Smith insisted the players, who have been backed to the hilt by the ACA, were not willing to back down from the stand-off.

But on Thursday, it was announced a media conference would be held in Melbourne to announce the details of the new MOU, which is expected to include a revenue share for the players of up to 30 per cent.
