Kedah head coach Nidzam Adzha Yusoff has congratulated Selangor goalkeeper Norazlan Razali, after the custodian produced a string of spectacular saves in the match between the two sides; which ended in a 1-1 draw.

In the Malaysia Super League match that was held at the Darul Aman Stadium on Saturday, Norazlan denied at least six clear-cut attempts had by Kedah players, to help the Red Giants come away with a point on the road.

Speaking in the post-match press conference, Nidzam acknowledged the 31 year old goalkeeper's heroics against the Red Eagles.

"Congratulations to the Selangor goalkeeper for performing splendidly in the match," said Nidzam.

When asked by Goal to comment on the visitors' defensive approach to the game, Nidzam expressed neither frustration nor surprise, saying that he had already expected it.

"I already expected Selangor to play that way, with five defenders and three in midfield, eight men in front of the goal.

"We were able to create chances, but we simply couldn't put them away," responded the former Kedah player.

He attributed his men's failure to break down the Red Giant's defences to the fatigue they have been experiencing, as his side (as well as other M-League clubs which have qualified for the Malaysia Cup) has been playing in five matches since July 1.

"My men were not able to keep up their speed, tonight's match was their fifth match.

"They could not do more, and in the end we were disappointed by the failure to collect all three points," he said.

However, Nidzam said that the key players who were absent against Selangor would be available in their next match, a Malaysia Cup tie against Kelantan on Tuesday.

"For our match against Kelantan, a number of our players will return from injuries and suspensions.
