College World Series Finals 2017: Live updates, highlights from LSU-Florida Game 1

LSU and Florida have given this year's College World Series a distinct SEC flair as both teams battle to be the top team in college baseball.

The No. 3-seeded Gators earned their berth in the finals thanks to a dominant two-game performance against TCU, led by ace pitcher Alex Faedo. His latest performance saw him strike out 11 and give up three hits and no runs through 7 1/3 innings in a 3-0 win on Saturday. LSU's path was a little more dramatic, as the No. 4-seeded Tigers fell behind 1-0 against top-seeded Oregon State before winning 3-1 and 6-1, respectively.

The Gators have played LSU three times this year, winning twice in Gainesville. Despite this, LSU will be the home team in Game 1 after winning a coin toss, per NCAA rules.

Florida's Brady Singer (8-5, 3.18 ERA) will start Game 1. LSU's Russell Reynolds (1-1, 8.59 ERA) will get the start for the Tigers.
