Michigan State lands fast-rising 2018 SF Gabe Brown

Michigan State's basketball team picked up a rising star Tuesday when four-star small forward Gabe Brown gave Tom Izzo his verbal commitment.

Brown, who is No. 86 in ESPN's rankings for the 2018 class, was relatively unknown even after his junior year in high school, but has skyrocketed up the rankings in recent months.

Brown, a Belleville, Mich., native, is a 6-8 swingman who can play shooting guard or small forward. He joins four-star guard Foster Loyer and four-star power forward Thomas Kithier in Michigan State's 2018 class.

With Michigan State likely to lose Miles Bridges and incoming freshman Jaren Jackson Jr. after this season, Brown should get ample opportunities to play right away.
