Lippi lauds facilities in JDT as one of the best in Asia


Marcello Lippi has heaped the praise on Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) after witnessing the facilities available at the club.

The China national team head coach is currently preparing his team for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Syria on 13 June and his team has been using the training facilities at JDT as part of the preparation.

The match is scheduled to take place in Melaka, Malaysia due to the situation in Syria but China Football Association has decided to put up camp further down south in Malaysia.

Speaking through JDT's club channel, Lippi was very happy with the decision to prepare his team in Johor Bahru and praised the quality of the facility available to his squad.

"It's a very nice training centre with a very good pitch. With all the facilities I like, like the gym, swimming pool and all the facilities. It's not easy to find such a good facilities," said Lippi.

Lippi also spent some time with HRH Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, who is the owner of JDT and hope that one day the Malaysian club can achieve the high level of a particular Italian club which he formerly coached.

"I met the owner of the Johor club. I heard that they achieved very good results these few years. I wish all the best to the team and hope they become better and better and become the Juventus of Malaysia," added Lippi.

China currently sits fifth in Group A of the Asian zone of the World Cup qualifier on five points and would need a to get maximum points from their remaining three matches to reach the World Cup in Russia next year.
