That's reportedly what New York is interested in doing. Gigantes reports the Knicks are interested in bringing back former point guard Pablo Prigioni as an assistant coach.

Prigioni played for New York from 2012-2015, when he averaged 3.9 points and three assists per game in 187 contests.

Prigioni, 40, recently retired after playing for Baskonia in Liga ACB. Gigantes also reports he is a candidate for the head coaching job with his former club.

While bringing Prigioni into the fold probably won't impact things greatly, Knicks fans always liked him. He was, after all, the starting point guard the last time New York won a playoff series, when they defeated the Celtics in the first round in 2013.

And as we all know, the last time the Knicks hired a recently-retired point guard to coach, it worked out great!
