MLB star leaps over catcher's head for best 'slide' in history
It’s already being labelled the greatest ‘slide’ in MLB history and it is hard to argue.
Even if you aren’t a fan of baseball this outrageous move will put a smile on your face.
It was a go-ahead run as well in the seventh inning of the Toronto Blue Jays clash with the Cardinals. And it was absurd.
Coghlan was on first base and when teammate Kevin Pillar nailed a triple home was the goal.
The throw drew catcher Yadier Molina off his plate a few feet but he still had the ball in hand well before Coghlan was on the spot.
Instead of sliding along the ground Coghlan could take just one course of action and that was a flying Superman leap over the catcher's head and onto the plate.
SAFE!
And cue Twitter madness:
Chris Coghlan's "slide" has surpassed Tony Micelli's headfirst dive into home plate in "Who's The Boss?" as the greatest ever! pic.twitter.com/hjFr7k8uTP

Putting all personal feelings about the #BlueJays aside for a Chris Coghlan appreciation tweet. Play of the year. Call it.
