Braves' SunTrust Park will have custom beer brewed from baseball bats

The Braves are pulling out all the stops for when they play their first game in SunTrust Park on Friday, including serving a beer specially brewed with baseball bats.

Terrapin Brewing Company, based out of Athens, Ga., has brewed a beer with leftover wood chips fromMizuno baseball bats.

Dubbed the Chopsecutioner, the beerwill only be served in Terrapin Brew Lab, which is inside SunTrust Park.

For clarification, the wood chipsare from discarded wood from the bat-making process, meaning there will be no sticky pine tar in your beer.

“We brew the Chopsecutioner and after the fermentation we transfer the beer onto the wood chips and then cool the beer down and age it,"brewmaster Brian Buckowski said.
