The Brewers centerfielder poked a Justin Grimm pitch to right-center in the bottom of the sixth inning and Baez gave chase as Heyward ran in from his center field spot.

Both players dove for the ball and Baez caught an elbow from Heyward to the side of his head as the ball fell to the turf at Miller Park.

While Baez quickly got to his feet and was laughing as he spoke with trainers, teammates and Cubs manager Joe Maddon, the 24-year-old was removed from the game for precautionary reasons.

Ben Zobrist came in from right field to replace Baez at second while Heyward shifted to right. Jon Jay then entered the game at center field with the game tied 1-1.
