Raiders' Bruce Irvin: NFL should worry about more than 'a dude celebrating'

Troy Vincent, the executive vice president of NFL football operations tweeted Tuesday that the league is going to make it clear what celebrations are appropriate for players moving forward.

Player celebrations became a topic of discussion last season after several players were penalized and fined for their actions after scoring touchdownsor making big plays. Many players complained that they weren't warned ahead of time of what's right and wrong.

In order to eliminate that confusion, the league apparently is making a dance video to show what's right and wrong. This is a tactic they've used in the past for other rules changes, such as showing players what is (and isn't) a catch, and how to properly tackle.

Even though the video isn't out yet, at least one player is upset at just the idea that it needs to be made. Raiders linebacker Bruce Irvin voiced his thoughts on Twitter saying, "[The] NFL [needs] to [be]worried [about] a lot of other s—than worrying about a dude celebrating."

Irvin isn't the only one who feels this way, but he's the most recent outspoken critic. During the season, Steelers receiver Antonio Brown, who was penalized numerous times for his celebrations, called for the league to explain what's within the rulebook.

"You know you can't really complain about the rules. You always want to stay positive, but in the midst of everything it feels like we need more clarification in regards to what I can and cannot do," Brown said in October. "Excessive celebrating shouldn't cost more than guys hitting guys in the helmet."

Expect this issue to continue forward, even after the league creates its dance video.
