Cubs fan Bill Murray gatecrashes White House press briefing

Reporters could only sit back and laugh after actor Bill Murray gatecrashed a White House press briefing to deliver his baseball predictions.

The Illinois native, decked from head-to-toe in Chicago Cubs gear, pretended to be the President as he stepped up to the podium to answer a question about whether his team could win against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

"I feel very confident that Clayton Kershaw is a great, great pitcher, but we've got too many sticks," Murray told reporters.

The Hollywood star then joked that home ground advantage and Chicago’s seasonal qualities would help the Cubs qualify for their first World Series in 71 years.

"At home, in front of our crowd. It's the weather. We also have a little bit of autumn in Chicago.

“You don't get that in Los Angeles. Trees just die in Los Angeles. In Illinois, they flourish."

The impromptu briefing wasn’t the first time Murray showed off his love of sport; the actor also started up an epic chant at the Ryder Cup golf tournament, earlier in October.
