Comedy of errors as baseball team shows how it's not done

Even though baseball is America’s past time, one university team has shown it probably needs to spend a bit more of that spare time working on its fielding.

The hilarious sequence of events all started when Oakland’s catcher fumbled a stray pitch during the match against University of Illinois-Chicago. But that was just the start of what proved to be a black comedy of errors.

Keen to make up for the error, the same catcher retrieved the ball and hurled it towards the pitcher, who in turn fumbled it before the batter on third base got home.

As Oakland scrambled to prevent another run, a different outfielder then threw the ball wide of the catcher on home base, allowing not one, but two more runs to be scored against them.

Rubbing further salt into the wounds was the fact that Oakland went on to lose the match by one run. Ouch!

Check out the video above to see how it’s not done.
