7th Tackle: Kangaroos fly the coop to Fiji

The Kangaroos will enjoy a relaxed lead-up to the Rugby League World Cup thanks to coach Mal Meninga.

He has organised a two-week camp for his 25-man squad in Fiji ahead of the tournament.

Meninga’s men will depart a day after its announcement on 13 October.

The team will also play a warm-up game consisting of 40 minutes against the locals and 40 minutes against Papua New Guinea.

Those two teams will then do battle for another 40 minutes.

The Kangaroos open the World Cup against England at AAMI Stadium on October 27.

Rugby league fans can watch the tournament, including the women's edition, on Channel 7.
