Ben Simmons’ Philadelphia 76ers are on the verge of being eliminated from the NBA playoffs after a dramatic overtime defeat to the Boston Celtics in game three.
Philly had a chance to win the match at the death but Marco Belinelli’s clutch basket was ruled to be just inside the three-point arc.
The incredible catch-and-shoot effort from the 76ers man dropped in just before the final buzzer went off – tying up the match at 89-89 and forcing overtime.
But it was the Celtics who stood tall in the extra period, with big man Al Horton coming to the fore as the Celtics sealed a 101 – 98 win to take a commanding 3-0 series lead.
More to come.
