13-year-old's stunning act of sportsmanship leaves football world in awe
Beknaz Almazbekov is the talk of the football world after an incredible show of sportsmanship.
Remarkably, he’s just 13 years old.
Almazbekov was captaining the Galatasaray Under-14 side in a game recently when he was wrongly awarded a penalty.
Almazbekov tripped over as he was dribbling into the box, but the referee awarded a spot kick after mistakenly believing he had been fouled.
Knowing he hadn’t deserved the penalty or a likely goal, Almazbekov produced an amazing act of sportsmanship.
The 13-year-old stepped up to the ball and purposely sent his shot wide, missing intentionally to make up for the bad call.
The incredible moment has since gone viral.
Sportsmanship and good conduct is something that can only really work if it's taught and adopted from a young age.
Integrity is a part of the game we've sadly lost among the passion, fame and riches
