Australia's Davis Cup coach and former doubles champion Todd Woodbridge wants to clear the ill-feeling that is thought to exist between Lleyton Hewitt and Bernard Tomic.
Hewitt, a two-time grand slam winner and Australia's highest ranked male tennis player, is reportedly angry with the lack of respect shown to him by young up-and-comer Bernard Tomic.
The feud reached boiling point at Wimbledon earlier this year when Tomic refused to practice with Hewitt.
Woodbridge says it's important for the 16-year-old to open up lines of communication with the 28-year-old.
"In this sport, you've got to respect your opponents and you've got to respect your peers," Woodbridge told Fairfax.
"The key to it is that both individuals have to get together and talk it out; thrash it out between our former world No.1 and our current world No.1 junior, and not through third parties like parents or agents.
"It's more Bernard's journey that I'm worried about. I'm worried about developing him as a player and as a person... He doesn't want this, and obviously Lleyton doesn't want it, so we want both of them to be able to represent their country in Davis Cup and that means communication."
Woodbridge had yet to tell Lleyton Hewitt his intentions but the Sydney Morning Herald reported Tomic was interested in a meeting.
