All Blacks wider training squad members Brad Shields and Luke Whitelock are among the players named for the first North Island vs South Island rugby clash since 1995.
The match, to be played in Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium on June 10, is being staged to support the financially troubled Otago union.
Several former All Blacks are also playing, though Andy Ellis, the most notable omission from the All Blacks squad named on Sunday for the Ireland series, is not there.
Only one player, New Zealand Sevens representative Charles Piutau, is not in a Super Rugby squad.
South coach Tony Gilbert says he's grateful so many players made themselves available during the three-week break in Super Rugby.
"We know how intense the rugby season is these days so it's great that so many have been willing to put their hand up for the match which aims to thank the local community for supporting the Otago Rugby Football Union at this time."
North coach Graham Mourie says he has fond memories of playing in previous North-South clashes, and wanted it to be an exciting spectacle.
