Samantha Miss superstar
November 07, 2008

Samantha Miss came to Melbourne with something to prove and has left with her name firmly on the way to superstardom.
After winning four feature races in Sydney as part of the Queen of the turf series, she did enough in the Cox Plate to show she could beat these other fillies over 2500m at Flemington.
She didn't just beat them – she pounded them.
She is another name you can throw about that's headed for more success.
Tomorrow's sprinting Group One race is set to be a cracker.
Unfortunately we won't get a chance to see current world champion Take Over Target in action.
Apache Cat will be on show and will be a tough horse to beat.
I am gonna tip an upset tomorrow and say Sunburnt Land will keep Apache Cat out in the sprint.
For the Emirates Stakes I'll tip All Silent because he has a nice light weight.
On another note I'd have to agree with 'the great man' Bart Cummings' call to include more staying races on our calendar.
This would lead us to buy more staying horses around the yearling sales. At the moment we are geared around making a quick buck for our client with two and three year-olds.
In the past this is because the stayers take a lot to train and the international horses have been too hard to beat.
Bart's managed to prove us wrong again this year and it's time to give the four and five-year-olds more of a chance.
And finally back to the Oaks, it was a fantastic day - enjoyed by a lot of blokes looking for love - unfortunately they probably didn't find it because of the train strike at the end of it all.
