Kaori Icho Biography

Icho is the two-time defending Olympic champion at 63 kg, having won gold medals in Athens in 2004 and Beijing in 2008. She is a seven-time world champion in the same weight class and won back-to-back world titles in 2010 and 2011. In addition to her five other gold medals in 2002-03 and 2005-07, Icho won gold at the Asian Games in 2006. She is the younger sister of Chiharu Icho, who won silver medals at 48 kg at the 2004 and 2008 Olympics.
