Olyroo Milligan's ban cut to two games

AAP - May 10, 2008, 9:54 am

Olyroos captain Mark Milligan will travel to Malaysia for this month's Intercontinental Cup after having his tournament ban reduced to two games.

The 22-year-old, who was suspended for missing an Olyroos training camp in Townsville last week, has apologised to Olyroos coach Graham Arnold and Socceroos coach Pim Verbeek and they've decided to hand him a reprieve.

The off-contract Milligan was absent from the camp because he was trialling in England.

The Olyroos, as well as fellow Beijing Olympic Games participants Nigeria and Argentina, top the bill for the May 15-25 Intercontinental Cup, which also features Ireland, Iraq, Croatia and Ghana, and hosts Malaysia.

Australia's campaign begins on Friday against Croatia, before group matches against Chile and Ghana.
