Race Imboden Biography

Imboden took gold at the January North American Cup in 2012 and added a bronze medal at the Paris Foil World Cup. His individual gold at the Pan American Championships in 2011 highlighted a year in which he totaled six gold medals in individual and team competition combined. He placed eighth in the senior world championships last year. Imboden qualified for his first major international team at age 16 and earned an individual bronze at the cadet world championships. Ranked No. 3 in the United States and eighth in the world, Imboden took up fencing when a stranger saw him playing with swords in a park as a child and suggested he take up the sport.
