BEIJING 2008

Birthday Bundies

Well training has been coming along very nicely in the last 6 weeks, getting stronger and faster all the time. It's only 2and a half weeks until the first Australian rounds of the Oceania UCI Olympic Points series to be held at Nerang on the Gold Coast. This race is the start of the new season, and it's always interesting to see who's going fast and been doing the work over the past few months lead up.

Even though the majority of the selection for the Olympics will be done based on the world Cup Supercross rounds it certainly wont hurt to be winning these races against the guys you are competing against for the Olympic positions.

Also the First world cup has been moved forward to early February, so doing the training now will be very beneficial for that.

I also have Super Squid (junior) and my YETI team-mate, Sam Willoughby from South Australia living with me for 7 weeks, at just 16 Sam is certainly one of the fastest juniors in the world, and probably about top 5 out of anyone in the country right now, and with me being the competitive person I am, every training session is like race day as I try and show the young fella who's the boss! haha. He's certainly going to be very VERY hard to look past when 2012 selection is up.

Also we have started building 'the Gravey compound' which is going to be my main place to get the skills sessions done, and it certainly doesn't hurt to have all the technical training facilities you need in you back yard! You'll have to go to http://www.jaredgraves.net/ to check out some pics of it ;)

Apart from all that, yesterday was my birthday! I celebrated though with an all day training session.....possibly could have had a more relaxing birthday, but training needed to be done, and as today is a rest day I'm enjoying a couple of late B'day Bundy rums right now.

It's also my mum's b'day today. Happy birthday mum!

All for now....
