Out of Worlds, but geared up for Beijing

Hey Guys, got a few spare minutes here at the moment so I thought I'd send a quick update.
I competed at the Mountain Bike World Champs in Italy last week, after winning the previous round of the World Cup two weeks before in Scotland I went in favourite.
There was a bit of extra pressure with everyone telling me all week I was going to win, but all good. I qualified fastest on the Friday, and was feeling good come race time on Saturday. I easily won every race of the day, and in no time it was time for the final.
I got a good start and went straight to the lead, when on the exit of the 1st corner French rider Michael Deldycke tried a desperate passing move and smashed into me sending us both over the 1st turn.
He also took out Swiss rider Roger Rinderknecht out in the process leaving last placed Rafa Alvarez To cruise to the easiest world championship win in history.
It was a very dissapointing way to finish the event. I had my eyes set on the World Champions rainbow jersey, but it wasn't to be i suppose, it will come!
But a few days later the Olympic BMX team was announced finally. I knew I would be selected after the last few World Cup rounds and World Championships, but for the team to be announced was great. This has been my main focus for the past 18 months now, so it was a releif to know im part of the team.
The Guys at Yeti have made me four custom frames for the olympics, which I am currently riding. It is the best riding and looking bike ever, so a huge thanks to everyone at Yeti who made that happen!
Im now in San Diego, at a 3 week pre-Olympic training camp, training on the olympic replica track in Chula Vista over the next 2 weeks.
I feel great right now, training is going well, and with another good six weeks training under my belt, I'll be 100% ready for the games!
More soon
