Disrupted training

In a normal training week, I have 10 training sessions. Our morning sessions start at 6am and go through to 8:15am, they are on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The sessions are held in the purpose built dryland centre, where there are trampolines, diving boards with crash mats, foam pits, harness rigging and strength training equipment. So we do lots of saults and twists, but importantly landing on our feet! The afternoon sessions are in the diving pool and are from 2:30pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday. This is when we do all our water training, from the 1m and 3m springboards, to the 5m and 10m platforms, and landing everything in on our heads! Saturday morning sessions usually include a combination of water and dryland training and strength. Sunday is our well earned day off!
Last week I went to Melbourne for a quick visit, as I was nominated for the Kitty McEwen -Victorian Female Athlete of the Year. Seven girls were nominated and I was announced as one of three finalists along with Katie Mactier, the track cyclist who came 3rd at the World Championships this year, also Penny Taylor who was a member of the Opals Basketball team who won at the World Championships. So I was defiantly in good company! Penny won the award which was a great achievement. It was a great night and a great honour to be a finalist. It was also great to catch up my parents, Wayne and Mary, as I haven't seen them in a few months.
