BEIJING 2008

Off to Beijing!

Today I'm off to Beijing along with the rest of the Australian Diving team. I can't wait to get over to Beijing, move into the Olympic village, get my Australian Uniform and get into the Olympic atmosphere.

As this is my first Olympics, as you can imagine I'm super excited. There have been so many messages from people wishing me all the best, which has been awesome.

Last Friday I received my accreditation, which is very important, as it lets me into the village, the sport venues and the dining hall. I also received my first piece of uniform which is the travel top. The Olympics are starting to feel real now.

My Olympic program is on the 10th of August I'll compete in the Women's 3m Synchronised with Sharleen Stratton at 1:30pm Beijing time (or 3:30pm Eastern Standard time), my next event is on the 12th of August it's the Women's 10m Synchronised with Melissa Wu, again it's on at 1:30pm Beijing time (or 3:30pm Eastern Standard time).

Then I'm all done competing and be able to let my hair down a little and hopefully I will be able to enjoy the Olympic experience.

Welcome back, I have just left Malaysia after the swim team’s staging camp. This will be the last time I write, since my busy race schedule will not permit me too much time for writing when I get into Beijing.

Everything in Malaysia went nicely, we are staying in lovely hotel, and the warm weather is a nice change from Canberra at this time of year. It has taking a couple of days to acclimatise to the warmth and the humidity, but it is much better to do that now than in Beijing.

To all our Aussie athletes competing in the Olympics, whether you win a medal or not you are all winners as far as I'm concerned. The dedication you all have for your sport makes you a champion. Us mere couch athletes could never imagine the thrill of the games. Good luck to you all. And by the way I LIKED YOUR UNIFORMS FOR THE CEREMONY. Don't listen to these so called fashion experts what they think is fashion I would'nt touch with a ten foot pole.

A great but unusual is Tandem Diving to watch.
It is incredible that 2 people can dive swing and land at the same time.
Get out there and do your best for nothing else can be asked.
