BEIJING 2008

25 days to go!

With only a few weeks until we leave for Beijing, training has knocked up a notch. Not only is the training environment more intense and focused, there is lots of excitement amongst my team mates, especially those of us who will be competing in their first Olympics.

Last week at training we had a mock competition, with judges and even a small crowd. It was good fun, and a bit of change to the usual afternoon training, and I dove really good too!

The last few weeks have been relatively uneventful, just training and doing my best to keep healthy and injury free. I have been working hard with Melissa and Sharleen on perfecting the synchronisation, and fine tuning our dives.

The Australian Olympic Diving team leaves for Beijing in early August, once we arrive we settle into the village and collect our uniform! I won’t be marching in the opening ceremony, but that’s ok, I will watch it from the Games Village with the other Aussie divers. I will be defiantly marching in the Closing Ceremony.

My first event is on Day 2, and it is the Women's 3-metre Synchronised with Sharleen Stratton, which is on the 10th of August at 1:30pm.

My next event is Day 4, and it is the Women's 10m Synchronised with Melissa Wu, which is on the 12th of August. Both of the synchro events are straight finals (5 dives) and only 8 teams in each event.
