  • Was a member of the Netherlands' 4x100m freestyle relay team that won bronze at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
  • A former world record holder in the 50m freestyle in a time of 24.09 seconds. She shares in the current 4x100m relay freestyle world record, both achieved during the European Long Course Championships in 2008 in the Netherlands.
  • Veldhuis set a world record and won a gold medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay at the 2006 FINA Short Course World Championships in Shanghai, China.
  • Part of the Dutch team that set a world record in the women's 800m freestyle relay at the Short Course World Championships in April.
  • At the Berlin leg of the 2007 FINA Arena World Cup series, Veldhuis broke Swede Therese Alshammar's 50m freestyle world record, finishing in 23.58 seconds. Alshammar's world record stood at 23.59 since March 2000.
  • Has won six gold medals at Short Course World Championship events, including four in April.
