Briefs 3-France keeper Coupet to join Atletico Madrid

Soccer - France goalkeeper Gregory Coupet will sign a two-year contract on Sunday with Atletico Madrid, Olympique Lyon said.

Both clubs have agreed a deal worth 1.5 million euro ($2.36 million).

Coupet, 35, won seven successive Ligue 1 titles iwith Lyon.

Soccer - Liverpool have completed the signing of Italian fullback Andrea Dossena, 26, from Udinese on a four-year deal, the Premier League club said on their Web site (www.liverpoolfc.tv)

Dossena, capped once by Italy, is manager Rafael Benitez's second acquisition of the close season following the arrival of Swiss international Philipp Degen.

Soccer - Italy will play their Sept. 10 World Cup qualifier against Group 8 rivals Georgia at Udine's Stadio Friuli, the home of Serie A side Udinese, the Italian football federation said on their Web site (www.figc.it).

The world champions start their qualification campaign for South Africa 2010 on Sept. 6 in Cyprus. Montenegro, Ireland and Bulgaria are also in Italy's group.
