Charged pair set to escape bans

Two players have been charged so far in round nine of the National Rugby League.

Bulldogs prop Jarrad Hickey has been charged with a careless high tackle but will escape suspension with an early guilty plea.

Manly's Mark Bryant will also be free to play this week if he enters an early plea to a dangerous throw.

The round concludes tonight when Newcastle hosts Melbourne.
