China's Lu Xiaojun wins weightlifting gold



Lu Xiaojun set snatch and total world records as China swept the Olympic gold and silver medals in the men's 77-kilogram weightlifting category.

Lu lifted 175 kilograms in the snatch, bettering his own world mark by 1 kilogram. He then took 204 kilograms in his final clean and jerk for a world record total of 379 kilograms.

Countryman Lu Haojie was a distant second at 360 kilograms while Cuba's Ivan Cambar Rodriguez got the bronze.

Defending Olympic champion Sa Jae-hyouk of South Korea was injured in the snatch and left the competition.
