Bronze to Perkins as British win again

Great Britain won their fifth gold medal from seven completed events in Olympic track cycling when Jason Kenny took out the sprint.

He beat French world champion Gregory Bauge two heats to nil in their gold medal ride-off.

Australian Shane Perkins won his first Olympic medal when he dispatched Trinidad rider Njisane Phillips 2-0 in the bronze ride-off.

That takes Australia's cycling medal tally at the London Games to a silver and two bronze.

Bauge earlier beat Perkins 2-0 in their semi-final.
