Aussie rower detained by police

A member of Australia's men's eight rowing team has been detained by police after he allegedly caused damage to a shop-front.

Rower Josh Booth fainted while being held by police, and was released without charge, Australian chef de mission Nick Green said.

He was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Green, who was contacted over the incident around 3am London time said: "We understand there was alcohol involved".

21-year-old Booth is competing in his first Olympic Games after making his international debut in 2010.
