Russian athletics star Tatiana Lebedeva said Friday she was ready to fight like a lion for gold in both the long jump and triple jump at the upcoming Olympics in Beijing.

"I'm a bit nervous ahead of these Games," Athens Olympics long jump champion Lebedeva, 32, told the press.

"At Sydney I knew that I had more chances in the future. But these Games may be my last chance to win both events and I will fight for the victory there like a lion."

The 2007 world champion in long jump said that she was planning to gain her top form for the beginning of the Olympic tournament, adding that she was looking for a 15.20m-15.30m result in the triple jump to win.

"This season I was not in a hurry to reach my top form," she said.

"It's a bit unusual for me to be in the shadow but the Olympics are the main start of the season and I did everything to prepare for the Games the best possible way.

"Triple jump will be my first event at Beijing and now I'm focused on the triple jump completely," she added. "It's very important for me to get off to a good start to build my confidence."

Lebedeva took silver in the triple jump in Sydney and bronze in Athens.
