Wimbledon men's final underway after rain delay

LONDON (AFP) - Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal got their eagerly-awaited Wimbledon final underway on Sunday after rain showers, which delayed the start by 35 minutes, relented.

Federer is bidding to become the first man since the 19th century to win six successive Wimbledon titles.

A win for Nadal would make him only the third man to win Roland Garros and Wimbledon in the same season and the first Spanish champion since Manuel Santana in 1966.

However, weather forecasters predicted a 60-percent chance of more rain later in the day.
