Gallen denies rift among Blues

ABC - May 14, 2008, 9:26 pm

Cronulla Sharks back-rower Paul Gallen says there are no problems between him and his New South Wales team-mates.

Gallen was suspended this season for raking the face of Blues reserve Anthony Laffranchi.

He also criticised prop Brett White for a king-hit on the Sharks Ben Ross in round two of the NRL.

Gallen called for a lengthy ban to be imposed on White, but says the incident is now forgotten.

"What happens on the field stays on the field. That's the way I play the game," he said.

"I wasn't happy with the incident that happened and he wasn't happy with my comment and that's all that matters.

"We're playing with each other now, and we definitely don't have a problem with each other and there's going to be no sort of media talk that's going to cause a rift between us or this team."

Gallen says now that he is on the same team as White, he would be the first to step in and defend him.

"He was playing against me, that's what I had against him," he said.

"I don't have anything against anyone off the field and certainly [with] my team-mates I'll be doing everything I can to make sure that they're safe and happy and that we win the game."
