Adelaide forward Brett Burton is confident he won't suffer an emotional letdown against Melbourne despite describing the Dream Team experience as 'the best week of his career'.
The Crow made that comment immediately after the Hall of Fame tribute match on Saturday night but, with a few days to settle, the Birdman has landed and is focused on the upcoming clash.
Burton said dealing with the highs and lows was a normal factor during every year.
"You'll play Collingwood at the MCG in front of 70,000 one week and then you'll play someone who hasn't got as much support in front of 20,000 or 30,000," he said.
"You experience that from a week to week basis. We are professional footballers. We have had plenty of experience with big crowds, small crowds, big build-up of games and not so big-build-ups. That won't be an issue."
Burton said his time away from the familiar surroundings of AAMI Stadium had been refreshing. But he was looking forward to being part of the mix as the side prepares for their clash against the Demons.
"The exciting thing for me is getting back to training with the boys," he said.
"We have had four or five days away from the club so you have really got that enthusiasm to get back to training and focus on this week."
Adelaide will enter its home match as strong favorites despite Melbourne record a stirring come-from-behind victory in Round 7. The Demons beat the Crows in their 2007 clash.
But Burton said the players were expecting a pumped-up opposition.
"It's going to be a very interesting game. Obvious they've got some confidence having their first win for the season," he said.
"They would have gone away from that with plenty of confidence. They would have reviewed it over the week, so they will be raring to go."
And he said his team wasn't playing at their best despite their 5-2 record.
"For us, it's another game that we need to put ourselves on show and continue to try and improve and implement the game plans that we have played with in the first seven rounds," he said.
"Obviously, we haven't been playing sensational footy, but we've been getting some wins. We just need to keep moving along."
"Form rarely draws into it. They have won their last game, and we have won our last game, so we start on an even keel."
