West Coast have confirmed that young gun Luke Shuey has agreed to a contract extension that will see him stay with the Eagles until the end of the 2015 season.
The talented 22-year-old still had a year to run on his current contract but put any queries over his immediate future to bed by committing to West Coast for a further two years.
Shuey, the 2011 Rising Star runner-up, insisted he never entertained the thought of returning to his home state Victoria at the end of next season.
"There was no temptation to move back to Melbourne at all," Shuey told West Coast's official website.
"I've loved it since I've moved over here and I'm happy with the group of guys I'm playing with.
"They're a fantastic group of fellas and we're looking forward to the next three years. It should be really exciting."
Shuey believes premiership success isn't far away for West Coast due to what he believes is a very talented core of young players at the club - and that fact was one of the driving forces behind him staying with the Eagles.
"Looking at last year's club champion results with 'Scooter' (Scott Selwood) winning it and Jack (Darling) and 'Gaffy' (Andrew Gaff) coming fourth and fifth respectively, it shows how good our young talent coming through is and I'm just rapt to be part of it and rapt to be playing with the guys that are here," Shuey said.
"I think we're all very determined to achieve success in the next few years and I think we're getting closer and closer each year.
"I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing and keep working hard to achieve the goal that we all share.
"Hopefully this is our year and I'm going to do everything I can to make that work."
After two injury-ravaged seasons, Shuey burst on to the scene in 2011 playing every game, including their preliminary final against Geelong, and averaged 20 disposals a match.
Shuey continued that form last season with an average of 23 touches from 21 matches. He has now played 52 matches and booted 49 goals in total after being taken with pick No.18 in the 2008 AFL Draft.
