The Fremantle Dockers have secured the services of Adam McPhee for another year after the utility signed a one-year contract extension.

The 30-year-old, 223-game veteran, who previously played for Essendon, had agreed to remain at the Dockers earlier this month but the announcement was not revealed until Monday.

The one-year extension will most likely see McPhee, who is in his second stint at the Dockers after spending six years at Essendon, finish his AFL career with the West Australian club.

However, the Dockers seem set to lose midfielder Greg Broughton with both Port Adelaide and St Kilda rumoured to be interested in the 26-year-old.

Broughton has played 68 matches for the Dockers after being a rookie squad selection in 2009 but only managed to play 15 games this year before surgery on an injured right finger ended his season.

The midfielder has previously played under St Kilda coach Scott Watters during his time with WAFL side Subiaco.
