St Kilda have delisted four players on Wednesday, most noticeably two-time Grand Final representative Brett Peake.
Peake, a former Fremantle winger, has flagged his intentions of returning to Western Australia to play in the WAFL with the side he was drafted from in 2003, East Fremantle.
Taken with pick 43 by the Dockers as a father-son selection, Peake went on to play 75 games for Fremantle and another 43 with the Saints notably, his only game in 2012 was their narrow loss to Port Adelaide in Round 1.
The Saints have also released ex-Richmond midfielder Dean Polo, who finished his time at Seaford with 21 games for the club and 77 matches in total.
Coach Scott Watters also revealed the de-listings of small forward Sam Crocker, who didn't play a match after being drafted in 2010, and rookie ruckman/forward Daniel Archer, who played one game in 2011.

If there is any doubt re a player's ability, why pick them in the draft. Here is a player drafted in 2010, shafted in 2012 without having played a game for the saints. Was this a case of pick him to stop another club getting him or just a case of using the pick?
ReplyNo wonder St Kilda suffer like they do. They keep on all these old broken down warhorses and delist blokes they haven't even given a game (in some cases). Poor old St Kilda.
ReplyHe'll have better fun in the WAFL anyway. AFL over-rated athletics carnival. WAFL is more suited to players with hard footy skills than those who can sprint. Just a shame the WAFL doesn't market their product like the AFL.
ReplyI dont understand why Peake got shown the door...Say whatever you want to about old Peakie, yes he;s inconstent with his ball skills no doubt, but the straight line speed and quickness that he has, esp for a team severly lacking in legs...I thought that Watters jess threw him under the bus, forgot about him and never fully gave him a chance..Too bad that Peake is all set for the WAFL, I think he should try jhis hand as a Free Agent, should be some interest left for a team like GWS who'se keen on adding some veteran talent...but if this it, Happy Trails Brett Peake, for the most part you were always someone entertaining to watch!!
