Chelsea are edging closer to landing Marseille fullback Cesar Azpilicueta.

L'Equipe says Marseille president Vincent Labrune has revealed his side have received a 'very serious' offer for the Spaniard.

In a further boost to Chelsea's chances, Marseille sporting director Jose Anigo has already admitted that his side may have to sell the right back in order to add to the squad.

With the positive signals coming out of the Marseille camp, the 22-year-old Spaniard could well be on his way to Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks.
