Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that new strike signings Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud will not be fully fit for the beginning of the 2012/13 Premier League campaign.

German international Podolski joined from FC Cologne whilst Frenchman Giroud arrives from Montpellier but both attackers will be slowly worked into the line-up after missing most of the pre-season.

"The players who were out here will have had enough games but some players will have only one game, " he told the Daily Mail.

"Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud may take longer than expected. I cannot play them in pre-season, so I will ease them in the Premier League."
