Sydney FC have secured the services of much-travelled defender/midfielder Adam Griffiths.

The 32-year old former Australia international has signed with the Sky Blues after spending the last two years in China with Hangzhou Greentown and is excited about heading back to New South Wales.

"I'm really happy to be joining Sydney FC, it's like coming home for me," Griffiths said. "I grew up in the Sutherland Shire, I played all my early football in Sydney and to be playing for Sydney FC is fantastic.

"I look forward to giving everything I've got for Sydney FC. It's a big club with ambitions to win things and that suits me. It's a bonus to play in front of family and friends, as well as the Sydney FC fans."

During his career, Griffiths has played for the likes of Oostende in Belgium, Bournemouth and Brentford in England as well as Newcastle Jets and a brief stint with Gold Coast United.
