New Stoner rival grabs Superbike crown

Brilliant American Ben Spies is set to challenge Casey Stoner and Valentino Rossi on the 2010 world MotoGP circuit after claiming the world Superbike title in a stunning debut season.

Spies clinched the crown in a tense final round at Portimao, Portugal on Sunday, as chief rival Noriyuki Haga blew his chance when the battle which went down to the wire.
