Who will win the Brownlow Medal and why?

I would love to see it go to Gary Jnr - one of the Ablett's should win it - but I don't want to jinx him so I will say Dane Swan as he has had 16 games with over 30 touches, plays in the middle and the Pies have had a great winning season.

Why has Gary Ablett Jr missed out in the past few season - despite being in fantastic form?

Only because of injury. He missed three matches last year and missed four games, I think, this year. If he plays 22 games, he wins, simple as that.

For the players, what award is more respected/sought after, Brownlow or AFLPA?

Brownlow has the prestige because of its history, but I don't think the AFL MVP is too far behind in the minds of the players. It's a huge honor to be voted the best by the players. Ditto the Coaches MVP.

Who are the Brownlow smokies in 2009?

There is always someone that jumps out at you... I think with the Saints winning 20 games, their big blonde skipper might vote in half of them at least so I think he will get 20 votes plus. He deserves a big voting night. He is a genuine star.

Who are the hot prospects to look out for next year (which rookies will come to the fore)?

Daniel Rich is already a polished, ready made footballer. Stephen Hill will keep getting better as will Jack Ziebell. Trent Cotchin if he can get his body right is all class, and Liam Jurrah I love watching and think can keep improving.

Who will win this year's premiership?

I hope the Cats. My head says it will be tough to roll the Saints, but my heart says Cats.

What were your overall impressions of the All-Australian side selected this week?

Very good. It's a tough job so there will be 'why' and 'why nots' but overall, a great selection.

Is the Brownlow Medal more likely to be awarded to a player from a top four club full of stars as opposed to a hardworking club without many marquee players and is this a flaw in the Brownlow selection process?

No - I think it is a good process and if we start trying to find flaws in everything we do in life we will all get tired. It's a great night and only great players win it.
