Inglis injury sours All-Stars match

A potentially serious injury to Greg Inglis has overshadowed the NRL All Stars' come-from-behind win over the Indigenous team in the third installment of the All Stars concept.

Scoring the first three tries of the second half including a sensational effort from last year's man of the match Josh Dugan, the NRL All Stars raced out to 30-22 lead with 15 minutes remaining.

The trial "Power Play" option, where each team can select two players from the opposition to exit the field for a five minute period, was used beautifully by the Indigenous team.

With their final use, Inglis scored to reduce the deficit to two points after a crafty set play.

However it wasn't all joy for the big Rabbitoh as he limped from the field with a suspected serious ankle injury.

Whatever joy wasn't shattered by the injury to Inglis, was certainly expelled when Manu 'The Beast' Vatuvei went from villain to hero with a try that broke the Indigenous team's back.

The NRL All Stars' 36-28 victory is their second straight win.

Earlier in the first half, the Indigenous All Stars raced out to an early lead with tries to winger Nathan Merritt and Broncos flyer Jharal Yow Yeh.

A scintillating 30th minute effort from Cowboys team-mates Johnathan Thurston and Matt Bowen threw the game wide open at 18-6, after Bowen pounced on a Thurston chip.

The NRL side hit back soon after through Frank Pritchard and Luke Lewis.

With the Indigenous lead slimming, Merritt scored try number two to restore some comfort to the 22-12 half-time lead.
