Brett Stewart was the face of the NRL ahead of the 2009 season, but an off-field controversy involving a boozy club function and a teenage girl, which turned out to be inaccurate, forever tarnished Stewart's reputation. During the legal action Stewart was removed from all NRL promotional material. He and NRL CEO at the time David Gallop never quite saw eye to eye after that.
